On Sunday, the club just ahead of the escalators (floor above ipanema) was packed and thumping from mid afternoonish. Mostly maids on their day off. Mixed talent (nowhere comparable to Brix) but promising in general. Think Hong Kong Cafe (in HK) types. The cub next door was dead and Ipanema did not feel inviting enough for me to go in. - Ventured by Ming arcade (supposedly the brix alternative) but it was shut on Sunday. - Geylang is busy. Lots of leads on the sbf site but feels very mechanical and transactional. Will add more as I explore. Cheers!!! I think the bar you are referring to is a Filipino bar, hence plenty of maids on day off. Was Ipanema full or just did not appeal to you?  Ipanema is my second go to after Brix

OT's fate is still uncertain, but its not likely to be gone anytime soon. You should try the legal houses in Geylang. With the borders opening, more picks are coming in daily. You will have to contend with the boorish pimps at the front door. Just ignore them, walk in, decide if its worth staying or leaving. Pay up or walk off. No need to engage the pimps if they are rude. I wonder whether they will relocate somewhere more welcoming - on their own or in cooperation with a subset of the other OT tenants (which would make sense to create win-win scale and buzz for all of them)? Still excellent quality. I'm told by the girls that OT will close and be knocked down around April/May. Brix is meant to open up again around the same period. The regular girls expect to just migrate there. For those that remember the old days, the girls and the client in Brix and Ipanema were quite different. It would be sad and a lost market opportunity if there is no replacement for Ipanema.
