Do you think it is necessary for Newbies having to post in their own section?

Hi Bros,

Do you think it is necessary for Nookie Newbies having to post in their own section?
I started a thread about this but only two new forum mods took the time to answer.

I think isolating reports by OP status is unfair and not required.
We should be interested in the content of the report and not how many Ks they have.

We need Newbies to feel part of the community.
Also Newbies post direct in to Mainland China and Rest of World without any issues.

Last month HK Walk Up and HK Hotel Walk In averaged 2.6 new posts per day collectively.

if your point of amalgamating the two threads is to achieve higher traffic of posts, then its one way of doing so.
another way of encouraging frequent posts is to increase the incentive to share.
perhaps more someone can organize more competitions, i'm sure everyone had a blast on the last one.
matching legs, boobs and ass to the right owner?
mixing it up with celebrities and or porn stars?

Post your side of the argument.
It is that simple.

I think it's a way for Nookie Newbies to feel they can post in that section without worrying too much about "getting it wrong". In other words, it's a safe sandbox. Certainly, reports in the NN section are treated with kid gloves. In other words, I don't think there's a stigma to it, I think it's a place to say "Hi, here's my first few reports".

But, given how easy it is to see how many K someone has, it would be just as easy to treat NN reports with kid gloves in the main section too.

There are good arguments both ways

On balance I feel having a 'sandbox' is constructive and - if handled right - more welcoming than encouraging people to jump in the deep end

standards in the NN section are lower, visibly so, and the tone of feedback is completely different.  I for one have frequently gone out of my way to recognise and encourage contributors to the NN section ... at times I've gone out of my way to read and comment on the NN section when I've completely ignored the other sections.

Having them mixed in with the experienced contributors makes it more likely they get treated the way we address those senior bros who should know better ... and on this forum the gloves frequently come off ...

that's just the way it is and saying "yes but we can see who's a newbie by the number of posts" assumes that everyone who's in a hurry to make a comment before moving onto the next post is going to pay the same thorough attention to detail to make sure their response is appropriate.  And that doesn't happen much at the best of times, we all get a bit hasty sometimes!!

No system can please everybody.

The moderators can consider to lower the K requirments for

NW to advance to a higher level so that newcomers can post OR response

to reports in other section more easily.

As someone who recently slogged through the newbie rank (yes, registered for 4 years before making a first post.. embarrassing lol), I think it helped me make sure that I was posting "correctly" and up to "standards" by segregating me into the NN section.

By posting quality reports, I was quickly rewarded by members who, I feel, are more nurturing in that section and tend to be more encouraging than not. Now I am paying it forward.

So yes, definitely have a NN section until they've proven themselves. We get rid of spammers and fake accounts too.
