Maybe if you did a poll outside the rooms of all WGs you may find that the majority of mongerers are 35+ or so but until then, you'll just have to rely on the response of people using these forums but I doubt it would be a good idea to be hanging outside unless you wore a big visible name badge saying "Twiceaweek" so people would know who you are

Well theres intelligence and then theres being young and brought up with having used PCs in your life.  Obvious theres older people who use PCs at work and then theres people who don't.

You've got to learn to think outside the box my friend. The PC is a machine like any other. The knee-jerk assumption that the young are more adept with computers is a dumb stereotype. The guys who invented this tech are now all in their 50-60's. The teenagers have just learned to play with a toy the adults have come along and placed in their laps. I'm not stereotyping, just saying that the majority. Obviously if you work in an office environment, theres plenty of 40+ people who uses PCs regularly.  But if you walk down the street and take a look at the majority of old people who arent working in offices and doing jobs that dont require them to use PCs, where being ignorant of computers doesn't really affect them.  You go visit relatives and its not uncommon for them to not have a PC or if they do, it belongs to their son or daughter and they don't ever use it themselves.

You go to computer shopping centres and its mostly young people in there with some old people yes but a large majority of them are young people, and if you did a poll there on ages, you probably would find very similar results to what we have here.

Its just a matter of priorities, younger people amy like to spend their time loafing in the computer malls while

Computer knowledge is a must now a days and internet is used widely for everything. It is wrong to assume that old people dont know how to use computer and internet facilities. Average life expectancy is high now and people below 70 are no longer considered as old. In fact, according to my opinion most of the members reading the messages on this forum should be in the middle or high management level and may be in the range of 40-60 and the poll showing the high range of users in 20-30 range may not be reflecting the true figure. So brothers who are 60+ should continue to feel young and continue with their banging sessions.  

Well you explain the correlation between mongerers age and use of 141.  I know I get my info from 141 and the majority of of mongerers I see around appear to be under 40 but I have seen the occasional 40+ guy.

You might be a whizkid with an iPod, young fella, but you obviously don't understand how to interpret statistical data. There are 12,489 registered members in this forum, but only 186 have voted. That represents only 1.5% of the registered user base. If that tiny sample had been truly random , it could possibly serve to indicate the average age of the registered members; however, the votes represent people who chose to offer up the information, and therefore were not random. There could be all sorts of conceivable non-random reasons why someone would choose to vote or not vote. When doing polls of voter intention, for instance, they don't ask everyone who's interested to phone in their opinion - they do a random sample of the voting public based on actuarial assumptions. If 2/wk had pulled those 186 members out of a hat, the results would be far more useful. As it is, the above figures tell us very little. Sorry 2/wk.

I would say a lot of the guys I see in the halls are predominantly less than 40.  Though I am surprised that there are not more of us older guys roaming around out there.

Could it be that the older guys, having more money, are more likely to go the Hotel Res route? Another thing to consider is frequency. A guy in his sixties isn't going to be punting as often as a younger guy, and so won't appear in the buildings as often as some hormone-crazed, 20 yr old.

I would think that the older guys, if they do visit walkups at all, go straight to the girl they're interested in rather than spend time going from door to door looking for something they like. When I was in my walkup phase, I went out with a list of 4 or 5 girls, usually just 1 or 2 in a particular building. I never knocked on random doors. So I was never in the halls for more than a few seconds. Also, a lot of the guys you see in those buildings are tourists going from door to door just for the fun of it, and this is something that an older guy isn't going to do.

But keep in mind that 2/wk's survey doesn't concern the average age of a punter, but the average age of the contributors to this forum, since only contributors are likely to vote.

But a regular forum user is unlikely to go knocking on random doors too, unless they'll take whatever or just one of those picky pervs who want to see whos behind every door.

I actually do not see that many guys in the hall.  I am just saying of the ones I see I would say most are chinese and less than 40.  The less than 40 seems to correspond to our little poll.

When I was waiting for Jessie in Fuji building the other day, I did see alot of mongerers walking around.  I didn't look at every single one or kept a tally in my head but most of them were under 40 I'd say with the occasional guy over 40.  Maybe saw only a handful of guys over 40 but the rest were definately under 40 and there were alot of people around.

Usually see a lot of people wandering around James S Lee building too who are about the same but but been in there for a few weeks now.

I don't disagree that you don't see many older guys in the halls of the walkup buildings. My point is that the older punters might be more likely to visit the Hotel Res girls or the Saunas and to punt less often. The three guys in this forum that I know are over 50 rarely seem to do walkups.

If you went into a McDonald's you'd probably find that most of the customers are under 40. Would it be accurate to conclude that most people who eat out are young?

Tho you might very well be correct in thinking that most mongers are younger than 40, my point is that you must be cautious when drawing conclusions based on a such a specific sample of people. All the above poll states is that of the registered members of this forum who chose to vote, 75% are in the 20-40 age category.

Prior to 45, I was an occasional punter because I was always in a relationship that never seemed to last more than a year or so. But while it lasted we would fuck like crazed weasels. But I never married and when I needed something different I just began a new relationship. I do much much mongering know that I'm over 50. I was 26 before I even visited my first WG, but then New England was not HK.

Now you're stereotyping by assuming older guys necessarily have more money.  They might have family, kids and a mortgage to pay.  Younger people might have more disposable income and also may be a lot more picky about the WGs they shag than an older guy might and the younger punters themselves might be more inclined to go for hotel girls.
