The Agoda website is good but i found the ASIAWEBDIRECT to have some hidden deals but even better the Bookings.com website has some more hidden gems of hotels, and hotels.com has a few rare sightings. Well not really hotels and guest houses. All with private rooms and no need to buy a double bed. more like hostels but just cheap places to relax and sleep. Heading back again same time later this year. Hopefully will have the guts to actually give it a go. For a first time punter in HK, would you suggest going for a 141 walk-in first or a hotel walk-in? Tried searching but my eyes have gone cross eyed and I cannot find an answer. I checked out a few Walkup clusters today (CC and Tin Hau) and was confused about the door knocking. 1) Door has a welcome sign -> all is good, knock away. 2) Door has a please wait/busy sign -> come back later, someone else is having fun. 3) Door looks like a WG door, purple Christmas lights, all sorts of writings on door, hook to hang sign on door, but no welcome or busy sign on the hook. I assumed that means no girls are there or they are off duty. But today I saw a guy knock on a door that I thought had no girls and a girl answered. This was in Tin Hau. I tried knocking on some of these doors and no one answered. Am I missing something or are these doors ok to knock/ring also?
