Watches (Your Bling Bling Accessories)

This is inspired by the Nokia thread.

What kind of Watch(es) do you wear?  (is that correct English?)

I wear a Gucci watch with metal band.  It must have a date and I can't stand the chronograph stuff.  Don't really know how to or when to use them.  I've had Gucci watches since high school.  I really want to upgrade to a Rolex or Piaget.  No not the fake stuff.  Plus the resale value for Rolexes is a pretty good incentive to buy one.

And yes,I know not to wear the good blings when hunting/mongering.  It'll most likely end up gone.

the Bling!   Yes, it does get chicks into bed even tho you're u-g-l-y. .....

Jaeger LeCoultre Master Réserve de Marche. Pink gold with leather band. Simple but elegant. The heavy gold Rolexes are too flashy for my taste.

This is good, now in addition to looking at chicks when I go to 141 places,
I'll also be looking out for bro's watches - I'm going to keep a list of who wears what
so don't be too surprised if I call out your logon name !

Rolex, IWC, Zenith..not in particular order. My Zenith is almost 10 years old. Saw the new el Pimero, reallllly sweet. Finally a great looking watch from a great company..

I am looking for a reasonably priced watch for all extracurricular activities. I have seen some few watches from Fossil which are very good features wise. Hopefully I will find one that is good

There's really only one choice - a Rolex. Why settle for less - provided you can afford it.

I've met people with other types of expensive watch and they always seem to want to expalin why they
bought it - style, elegance, design, blah, blah, blah. With a Rolex - no explanation necessary.

That is so true.
But if you ask any one who owns rolex why? none would be able to keep a straight face and say that his watch is a technical achievement. Sadly watches can be a bit of the snake oil stuff.

90% of the people who buy Rolexes do so because they think it makes them look wealthy and cool. The other 10% have no taste.

The Rolex is the ugliest watch ever made - a big silly piece of flashy gold utterly without style. The only way you could make it any uglier is to encrust it with diamonds, which is just what they did to appeal to even richer snobs without taste.

Goodness you don't mean that.  Rolex are the ONLY watch a person can buy now and it will still be in demand in 10 years.  Some of the best looking ones were released 15 years ago, and truthfully, they still make similar ones now.  That's Classic!  I love the Oyster DateJust.  Pure elegance.  Rose gold, white gold, yellow gold, etc.  All wonderful and we all know gold holds its value.

I would not buy brands such as Chanel, Mont Blanc, IWC, etc. because they never ever hold their value.  It seems every year they release a new model so the old model gets ignored and there is no demand for it.

The look of Rolex, the durability of Rolex (it uses a Patented Steel and scratch resistant coating) and the pure workmanship of the watch makes it the Best of the BEST.  It's large and commands attention, but that's only because only the successful get to wear it and pull it off.  If you don't pull that kind of money, a fake can be easily spotted.  Pretty much no middle class worker can afford it and wear it proudly.

I must say a Rolex is a damn fine piece of jewelry.
