Cantonese mongering terminology/slang

I'm pretty ignorant of Cantonese mongering slang, aside from the obvious stuff like "gai" and "gai do." I imagine there must be quite a rich vocabulary. Could some of you contribute some to a learning thread please?

Three initial questions I'd have:

1. What do you call the pimp? Just "lo ban," or something more specific?

2. What is the term for going out mongering? There's one that's like "hunting chickens," isn't there? I've forgotten it.

3. Do you call a male prostitute a duck, same as in Mandarin? (Maybe tarte knows?)

Thanks for any tips.

To answer your questions, see below:

1. Gai Tau (Chicken Head)
2. Giu Gai (Calling Chicken)
3. Arp (Duck)

Very good, and very fast! Thanks! I imagine "gai tau" is not a term one would use to address him if one wanted to survive the experience, right? (Just as one would not address the girl as "gai.")

In that case, you should address him as "Mister Gai Tau, SIR" as a sign of respect.....

Kidding aside, you should just call the Gai Tau LAO BAN and the WG Lang Lui (pretty girl).

That is a good question.  I usually call them 'A Jer' which means HEY SISTER. Otherwise I would ask, "How do I address you?" and then call them whatever their name is with 'JER' added at the end, eg A CHING JER, or A SUET JER.

How about these?

1. Pimp - Ma fu (The literal translation of each character is horse, man/husband. The combined literal translation is horse wrangler/keeper.)
2. Mongering - Piew (I'm not sure what the character or English translation is.)
3. Gigolo - Ngaap (The literal translation is duck; this seems to be the most commonly used slang.)

technically yes, but in this context its just a sample girls name; it doesnt make much sense to have someone going around called "brother - jeh"

ching is the name of the girl, so he calls her "ching jer" which means sister ching. also i thought "c hing" meant senior brother, not just brothers. or at least that's what i picked up from watching chinese kung fu movies lol.

"c-hing" (or more formally "hing dai") is for brothers, aka peers, aka your posse
"dai lo" is for the leader, aka triad boss
"lo ban" is like calling someone "boss"
