The Octopus species would extinct after the German revenge.
Btw, Paul has accurately predicted SIX consecutive Germany wins.
It seems that the German are so forgetful.

Paul the Octopussy!!

Looks like Octopussy predicted Spain and Germany to win in this weekend matches.

Bear in mind, Paul got 80% right in EURO 2008 and it was the Final match that spoilt his perfect %.

Based on my analysis and past statistics, I still go for Holland, It;s gona be ORange year!!!!!
Since 1978 World Cup, only the Team with best past latest 6 matches' results won the WC Champion as compared to the Runner-up.

You're a very brave man to go against the Oracle octupus!

The way Spain handled Germany, I like their chances in the final.

Yup, I do trust Paul the Octopus. The Dutch cheese-rollers will lose their third world cup final after '74 and '78. The Spanish have the better team for sure. Sneijder and Robben are not enough to beat Spain and the Octopus.  Homer says: Spain 2 - Holland 0

Hard to tell what will happen in this final. Both Spain and Netherlands would deserve to get the title, however Spain didn't play a very impressive tournament this far, so I'm somewhat in favor of the Dutch. Also would make a neat excuse to head there, celebrate with them and have a smoke.
Regarding third place it would be quite shameful if Germany didn't make it. But Forlan is one hell of a player.

Not exactly sure Netherlands "deserves" to win title...They only match they beat a big team was Brazil - and I think it was more of Brazil losing it than Netherlands winning it.

Spain had a slightly tougher road, against Portugal and Germany.

Pity the Germans though, who had to beat England, Argentina and Spain to get into the finals. I think the Germans probably deserve to win it this year more than any - blame it on the octopus!

I would say that if you beat the best team in the world - then you can be a worthy world champion.

Is'nt the world cup all about beating the best, to be the best?

Germany should win this one. And the Octupus said so as well

The question is whether or not there's going to be a let down after not making it to the finals. Sometimes players have a hard time getting motivated for just a 3rd place match.

it's not a let down to win the 3rd place - it's much more of heart ache to lose the final. Ask the Dutch team! They have lost lost twice and are going to lose a third time.

Interesting article here. This guy talks about how a Russian economist became famous for his theory on economic waves, but it was actually 2 Dutchman who discovered it first but as the work was only recently translated to English - this was only recently found out.

So as to not repeat the mistake - he says - he is publishing his theory that the Dutch success also happens in cycles and predicts Dutch success in this world cup. Well done I say.

The Oracle Octupus got it right again! Will he go perfect for this World Cup or will choke at the end.

I'm going with the Octupus again.....GO Spain!

I agree it's a heart break to lose the final, because you were ooooh so close. But I've been on several occasions on the wrong end of just missing the finals, and while you want to win and give it your all, it is an emotional let down.

I've seen it with many times when a country just so get deflated after the loss, then do the unthinkable and deliver a worse performance for the 3rd place match. But good for Germany to put on a show and have the will to overcome the 2-1 deficit and come away with the win.

Suarez is the best goalie this WC. His reflexes are undeniable!! Uruguay should have put him in goal last night...
And what a performance has Forlan brought to the team..! Amazing player. I wish he got that last minute free kick in... Would have made it an even more amazing game than it was already

Suarez was first to notice the hand ball from one of the Germans, go figure haha
Forlan and Oezil were so good. Luckily the Germans pulled it through.

Lol suarez. Do you think people like Suarez, Forlan, and Ozil will move on to bigger teams before the end of the transfer window?

Suarez and Ozil will probably move on. Forlan on the other hand is a bit old and already in a great team. But I can still see him in Real Madrid as they seem to like old players haha.

Spain will take it tonight =) go Barcelona hahaha

I definitely think Ozil is hot property right now. He's only 21 and he showed such mature performances this WC.
His vision, speed, touch and creativity is one of the best. However, I haven't heard much transfer rumours as of yet from him.

GO HOLLAND TONIGHT! The Dutch deserve a world cup!
