Macau trip - high class recommendations

My buddy is visiting and wants to go to Macau for some fun.  I think this means eye candy, tempting himself and then HJ.

He is pretty rich and only likes the more high end places.

I haven't really seen much of this side of Macau myself yet.  Any recommendations on a flight plan for the evening, resturant, casino, bar, club, massage place.

Thanks xiaodidi, sounds good.  Aside from the gambling (hopefully incl some poker) what ballpark damage am I looking at?

A few mentions of MP3 MP4 as a almost-regular club that also has good white meat eye candy, any recommendations?

Also any white guys out there who drink in Macau?

I agree with the Robuchon @ Lisboa or Wing Lei @ Wynn.

Gaming, if your friend likes the nice places, the one that always gets the nod from my visitors is the Wynn, although I think it's a little bit too dark for my taste - I'd choose the Grand Lisboa myself, although it's more mass market appeal.

Bar, you should check out Lion's Den @ MGM or Cubic @ AIA.

Club, I'd say Deluxe or Rio get the nod here, I haven't tried the one in the Starworld but initial reports say it's pretty good, and judging from the pricing, it would have to be premium quality to survive.

Massage, I'd agree and say Rio, although my friends from overseas love the D1 bathing experience.

Robuchon has a lunch set that is actually a really cheap compared to their dinner service.

I'ev had many friends go to Macau for the lunch there and none have been disappointed.

When I was there, my buddy took me to Grand Lisboa for the buffet.  It was just awesome food.  After that we hit up Rio.  Awesome!  We hit up some of the casinos like Wynn, saw the Bubble show at City of Dreams.  But I wasn't really too excited about the gambling or the entertainment.

You are talking about the set lunch that has three or four courses.  It will be about 400-500 HKD, which is far cheaper than the dinner, budget about 1500-2000 HKD for that.

Yes, the set lunch is really good, and I recommend it for anybody that likes good food.

Generally for lunch, I'll drop by Tim's Kitchen @ Lisboa, which is a great little restaurant that doesn't get many guests, but the dim sum is superb.

Robuchon is a great restaurant, but dinner there is very pricey.  The furnishings and service is top class too.  The degustation menu at Robuchon (dinner) is about $230US from memory (not including wines).  Truly great food, if you like French food that is.

Agree Lisboa's Robuchon is a great restaurant. I've only eaten there once and it is true French fine dining, I would recommend it, but as a Westerner I would lean towards experiencing the local scene instead. It was a little surreal as it was on a weeknight and the place was almost empty.

off-topic, so I apologise in advance, but isn't there a place with the same name out in Sheung Wan?  Got really famous, especially after it was given a Michelin Star.  Anyone know if the places are related?Must not be if Twice said they use a shit load of MSG, right?

Ask what kind of games your bother likes at the casino.
Not all of the have the same crowds especially table distribution.

I would agree if he was visiting from out of town.
Take him to a local scene or Portuguese food.
You can't get Portuguese food everywhere..

Head over and grab lunch at the Robuchon (no t-shirts).
It's like 1/2 the regular price.

Stay a night at the Wynn or Sand.

Enjoy the night and report back.

I'm not sure if it is the same one.

Far as I know, the lunch time is fine, I don't notice the msg in the dim sum.

Dinner however is another story, I don't really recommend Tim's Kitchen for dinner as it is very pricey wthout the quality you would expect.  For example, you are better off ordering the Salt&Pepper Spareribs at the Noodle Bar @ Grand Lisboa than to eat it in Tim's for dinner.

Dinner, I would really recommend The Eight @ Grand Lisboa or Wing Lei @ Wynn for the experience.  Surprisingly as well, The Eight is cheaper than Tim's for dinner, can't say that about Wing Lei though.

Robuchon is always empty.  You rarely see more than 4 tables at any one time.  The prices you are all quoting are correct from my last visit, although I generally feel the degustation menu is too much food and takes a little bit too long.  If you are on a date it's ok, as it will take about 3 hours to finish if not a little more.  The outstanding dinner option here is the Kagoshima Beef, it's about 1,000 HKD or so.
