4 hours is probably too tight. For example, there is nothing "next door" so you will easy lose an our travel inc return trip minimum. Then you need to do security and customs again at the airport, could be another hour. Plus need to be at the airport best part of an hour before take off so I think if only 4 hours it is too tight.

As TonyToro says it's tight but you could probably do it. I think the trick would be to do research and get to somewhere in Kowloon that is close to the Express and also has a good selection of walk up girls, that way if one is busy you can always move on to the next.

last time i was visiting hk for tour and the weather was bad and flight delay for 2 hrs and nothing they can do about it but the airport was giving some freebies like some christmas dolls because it was during christmas....

seeing how it takes about an hour to get from the airport to kowloon and back.. and you'll need about 1 hour to get through the checks.. you might be able to pull it off by calling some HG's as soon as you land get an immediately booking, see her for 30 mins and then book it =P

If you absolutely want to do this and cost is no object, then book a room at the airport hotel (expensive!) and make arrangements with an English-speaking papasan for him to send you the WG (at a FAT price premium) and have her wait for you in the hotel lobby at the designated time, maybe with 50% prepayment upfront by Western Union or bank transfer. Your total cost here is going to be higher than getting a WG in wherever the fuck you come from (unless it's Saudi Arabia or the Holy See), and maybe more expensive than your flight, but that's the way to do it if you want what you want and you are willing to spend for it.

Theres nothing in Tsing Yi with regards to 141... but close by in Kwai Chung or Tsuen Wan (better) there is.

Its a good suggestion to get the airport express and shoot quickly to Tsing Yi station. From there its possible to get a quick taxi to the above mentioned areas and have choice.

Tsuen Wan is a 10 min / HK$25 taxi ride from Tsing Yi.  You can be there before your fellow passengers have reached HK Station.  

But it's a bit tight with a 4-hour window ... conservatively speaking it looks something like this ...
  Disembark and walk to Immigration 15 min
  Immigration 5 min
  Walk to AE  8 min
  Wait for train 10 min
  Ride to Tsing Yi 20 min
  Walk to taxi 2 min
  Taxi to Tsuen Wan 10 min
probably close to an hour to get there.  Return trip is very similar.  

OK that leaves you a full hour with the girl, an hour to get back, with about 1/2 hour in hand before they close the doors on you.  About as tight as a gnat's arse, and leaves no room for the girl being unavailable or other delays.   

But if you know what you're doing and prepare meticulously it could be done.  Fancy the challenge?  

Not sure you'll find much in the way of rub-and-tug in Tsuen Wan, but there's usually a selection of HGs.  You could phone the papa on the walk to Immigration.

As you can see by this schedule which seems about right, you are relying on nothing going wrong, no delays, no dramas... no time to scratch your nuts or buy a coke on the way Bro. Make sure you take a leak before you get off the plane etc. Immigration is a serious unknown. Depends on the time of day you arrive and whether you have one of the HKIE Frequent Visitor cards.

actually allowed for it in the walk from the plane ... you'll pass one or two without having to detour ...
or when you arrive at the AE, it shows how many minutes before the train arrives - meaning you can use some of that 10 min provision either before getting on the train or after getting off it ...
or take a leak at the girl's place ...

AE train ride is less than 20mins, probably closer to 15...

Going through immigration will take seconds if you hold the chipped ID cards but if you're holding a passport then that may take from minutes up to an hour...

Plus I get the feeling the immigration authorities take more time with some nationalities than other nationalities.  There is some profiling going on.  So mate where are you coming from?

It's not just nationality, it's the whole package.

Single or with family?  Poor or rich looking?  How many luggage do they carry?  Do they stop in the washroom before going through customs?

In some airports, they actively watch the passengers as they disembark from the plane.  Certain behaviors are considered risky and they will check those passengers more carefully.

I am a huge target and am always checked by customs/immigration in any country.

Gotta face the facts, if you are young, male, asian, travelling alone with minimal luggage, you fit the profile of a drug smuggler.

Likewise, if you are young, female, asian, travelling alone with minimal luggage, you fit the profile of possible prostitute.

What we must pay to have safe travel lol.

Oh, and if you are looking for a quickie in a 4 hour layover at HKIA, the best bet may be to have something arranged for you at the Airport Hotel.

I have had meetings with people during short layovers in Hong Kong in the Airport Regal.  If you have a HKID, this is really fast and practical.  

I've never tried it myself, but if I can have a meeting in a 2 hour stop, you can definitely do it if you have a particularly good agent, or have some good friends in Hong Kong.

I presume you are talking about hand luggage? Because the luggage reclaim is after the immigration clearance. You are more likely to get targeted by customs which is after luggage reclaim... feel sorry for the folk who look dodgy and get stop/searched


Another note is that they have temperature measurement on the way to immigration halls and ive often been stopped because my temperature in the screens look higher than others... might cost 5mins once they start quesitoning about your health (speaking from experience)

You should be aware that in newer airports that they can and usually will observe you from cctv the minute you step off the plane into the airport.

If immigration doesn't like you, you might be targetted at customs as well, as they have methods to communicate on suspect individuals.

A good example is Vancouver or Toronto.

If you fit the profile, they will always get you in Immigration.  If your answer isn't very good, they will write a code on your immigration form.  When waiting for your checked-in luggage, often a guy/girl with a K9 will come and sniff you and ask to see your papers.  This can happen more than once, in a deliberate move to unnerve you.  Then, when you hand your immigration form exiting customs, the customs guy will look at the code and immediately move you into the customs inspection area, no questions asked.

This isn't as prevalent in Hong Kong, as not much is prohibited into the country.  I have seen it though, where somebody that is having a hard time in Immigration is immediately tagged by the HK customs exiting.

And this happens to me in Canada all the time.  It's my frequent trips to Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines, and Thailand that gets me on the suspect list.
