I have been to a few saunas and get their SOB story about receiving little or NO salary.  Boo Hoo!!  They do however, stand watch over our valuables (watches, wallets, clothing and etc.) so offering a 10 spot is reasonable to me.

When in SZ in a veg sauna I usually tip HK$10 only if they polish my shoes as well.

I've been to saunas there where 10% is automatically added to the bill but when they do that I ask that they remove it or I won't pay (at the checkout desk).  Hasn't failed yet!

Sorry to those ex sauna boys reading this thread..

I hate you guys so much.  I would be much happier if you werent around.  All you do is sit there and get in the way of me changing my clothes.  Then expect me to TIP you for the inconvenience you have given me.  I know the mainland sauna boys just wanna get a look at some albino trouser snake, but really... just let me change in peace!

Its ironic that i read here that its somewhat discourage tipping the masseuse because it will create a culture of harassing customers on tipping.....then I read here that many posters here can do without them due to the tipping.

Maybe it has something to do with locker boys being paid the minimum wage and not having the customer sign off on anything - so they need to hassle you to get paid more!

Personally I'd only do such a job if I could 'help' out in the women's bathroom...

I am a bit of a cheapskate, but I would generally tip 10 each time.

Last time though, they didnt ask me directly so i just walked out without tipping! But this place i already tipped the massage gal 100, and plus everything there's 10% on top
