I've many times accompanied my non-Chinese speaking friends to Lockhart Rd. bars and they tell me that they really don't like going to walk-ups, HG's, Brotherls, KTV's and other "for locals" venues as they feel like fish out of water because of their lingual inadequacy.  Even when they go to those who suppossedly could speak English - it's always just quite rudimentary English and they just cannot "Connect" with these Chinese gals. And thus their "preference" for the Imported gals - just coz they could not manage with their lack of Cantonese/Mandarin. THEIR POV!!!  LOL SEAJ

You both know why you're there and it certainly ain't to chit-chat, unless you're some poor sap, whose life is so pathetic that you need to pay someone who'll actually listen to you and talk to you. And that's not to mention that you don't have to listen to some kind of sob-story that so many WGs seem to have in their repertoire.

But from what I understand many local girls don't speak english. This sounds wierd because in a country like Thailand the girls are able to talk some english even though it's rudimentary english most of the time. Can anyone provide me with an explanation ? I've been with 3 chinese girls in Barcelona. I know didly squat about chinese, just a few words of spanish and the girls couldn't speak any english. But I still had a good time with each of them. I think for only 45 mn/ 1hour spent with a girl, I could do without much communication. It would be probably a different story for an overhight experience. Cheers.
