Dongguan (CP)

Interested in a trip to CP, need help from bros out there. Promise to post report if trip is successful.

1. Any hotels to recommend?
2. Any good saunas or take away near the recommended hotels?
3. Is CP safe to walk around? (like pick pockets or robbers or someone drugging your drink?)
4. Any street walkers? Safe?

Thanks!

ive been only to DG 3 times, 2 times it was in Changan,  and the 3rd time in Dalang..
never been to CP tho.. guess you should visit the china report and look there..
i heard there are like 500.000 people in DG in the sex industry... and loads of sauna's and clubs... think most of them are good... you will find a girl...

easiest way from hk, i guess cross border at  Lowu or "wongkong"  then take cab to DG, cab ride should be around 1hour...
or try to hire a black taxi, one recommended by friends ofcourse

my friend took it and he was charged 300rmb  from SZ/Lowu border  all the way to DG Dalang...

but i think lots of them will do for 200 or less... but if you dont speak manderin, and just want to get safely there.. i wouldnt bargain too much with the driver

cause my friend was alone.. maybe he will get 250rmb or even 200rmb for it... but its just 50 or 100 more... its cheap compared in many countries anyway...

oh intresting note... my friend booked this black taxi  and he charged 400 only
he took us from sz lowu to donguan changan then when we were done  like 5/6 hours later?? he drove us back to sz lowu
so it was only 100rmb per person  for a roundtrip but you have to get recommended..
i dont think you want any black taxi who asks u where to go..
i think sz is still very dangerous!

by far the fastest, easiest, and economical way to get from HK to CP is to take the train at Hung Hom to the train station at CP.  Total time is around 1 hours 10 minutes and the cost is $145HK (roughly $20US).

I guess someone else who goes to DG more often can answer you this...
ive only been to 2 ktv's and 2 sauna's...

but i guess.... cause of the service you can get?  cause of the largeeeeeeee amount of girls?? For a cheaper night??
On my first KTV  there were like 100 girls,  and on the other KTV in Dalang  there were like 300!!!! maybe even 400!!
Only on the entrye there were already like 100    and there was this huge room  who also had at least 200+ girls...

a lot of foreign companys set up factories and HQ in DG because it is a SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE.

so a lot of HK expats moved there for work..... mostly lonely males with big salaries and no wives...

thats how the sex industry there started

Welcome to the forum bro. With all your questions, I would advise if you read the reports in the China reports section as well as do a search on your particular questions as most of the stuff have been answered or reported.

the best way to CP would be by train from Hung Hom RR station.  145 HKD one way.  First train at 725 am and last one at 724 pm.  return to HK: 903 am to 858 pm.
upon arrival, take a light green taxi rather than and private car or mini van.  cost would be the same but safer.  15 to 20 rmb.
Hotels would be Hui Hwa, Hui Mei, Miration, Century Plaza, Virgin..Walter.    cost per room around 300 give or take with breakfast.  these hotels has the veggies, saunas, ktv.
Stay away from the back streets and the street mamas.  just take their cards and keep walking.  I have heard negative stories dealing with them.

Good luck

To get to Goodview Tangxia, do you just get off the train the Zhoumoutou station and cab over? Anyone have any ideas? Is there also a bus to that town from Lo Wu?

You can take the old KCR from TST East to Lo Wu, walk across and then catch a train to DG (I believe it is the train to Guangzhou).  That train is only 55 RMB.  Miraton seems to be the gold star standard for newbies.  From the train station, it is less than a 20 RMB taxi ride to Miraton.  They have sauna (take out to your room but so does every hotel in CP) and KTV.  Virgin Sauna is right next door, pirated DVDs across the street and 7/11 and chan chan tang (noodle shop) on the ground floor.

After you get more experience, you should try Mayflower.  Their hotel doesn't have a sauna, but they have very very soft beds (pillow top).  Good to sleep, but not so good for fucking.  Mayflower some other KTVs are in a completely different area than Miraton, Virgin, Hui Hua, etc.

It is a direct train to Changping Station.  You will need to pass throgh Customs. Some of the CP KTV and Saunas  behiind the staion is a short 5 minute taxi ride.

Lots of factories around DG.  The management are usually imported and they can go there alone for months at a time.  Lonely bored guys with relatively high pay compared to the region makes it a great spot for saunas and KTVs.

Agree that train is the best way to go. You can catch a "Through Train" at Hung Hom Station, it goes straight past Lo Wu to DG so cuts the travel time down and you dont need to do those pain in the ass double Shen Zhen customs. I go regularly and I think the pricing from JeSun is spot on. Depending on which station in China you ultimately you need to go to there can be a couple of stops at the end of the journey but for the most part the Through Train is EXPRESS. Time obviously varies subject to where you go.
