Newbie question - bringing WGs to your hotel room

Under what circumstances can a police officer come knocking on the door?  what kind of legal trouble can you be in - found with a WG in your room pants down?  Did it several times before in HK never thought twice of it.  Now do I need to worry about it given the raid in WC?

Thinking of staying at Sheraton in TST or Renaissance Harbor View, would the staff at either or both of them be friendly or at least oblivious to guests bring hot WGs into their hotels?

thanks a thousand.

If she is over 18 you have no problem. In fact if WG or agent tries to shake you down threaten them with calling the police.

Sheraton is definitely no issue, I have stayed there many times. You will likely need to escort WG up to your room, definitely in the evening/night. They have good security which is what you want. Who wants non guests wondering around at night, like some gorillas she knows that she lets into your room while you are sleeping? Plus all rooms have safes to keep your valuables locked up.

Please do report?

Have stayed at a couple of the big 4/5 stars with the giant entries and lobbies and have had no trouble with bringing in a girl.  Have also stayed at the smaller 3 stars but haven't brought home a girl just because the lobbies are so small you have to parade right in front of the girls at the front desk.  I know it shouldn't matter, but it is easier at thebig hotels to just blend into the lobby crowd.

I can't speak to the legalities of this in HK.

However, as for the hotels I can say my last trip to HK I was at the HK Island hotel (RHV) you mentioned (and suite...for future reference the board prefers if we don't use real hotel names in reviews and such but this might be acceptable as it is not linked to any direct current activity...and Froddo didn't say anything)  There was lots of traffic in the lobby in the evenings and what I could have sworn were a couple WGs sitting in the lobby.

I did have a WG visit me for an overnighter there.  If it is after 11pm you need a room key card to activate the elevator.  You will have to go down to the lobby to fetch the WG.  For the RHV there is a little telephone alcove beside the elevator bank which is discrete if you don't want to do the parade (my clients and team were staying in the same hotel).  I wasn't concerned for the hotel 'busting' me but just didn't want work to 'catch' me.

In the big 4/5* hotels when fetching you WG from the lobby just make sure you don't solicit the wrong WG...did that at the C in Admiralty.   Saw her sitting at the sofa next to mine and strolled over and asked if she was Good Night and she answered no (in broken english) and gave me some other equally 'fake' name and then started to text with a look of consternation.  The hotel staff know what's up and imho probably don't really care as long as it doesn't impact on their other guests or otherwise get out of hand.

One time I had a hotel car take my overnighter WG back to her hotel in the morning.  The doorman was very professional and as I was paying for the service (car) it went fine.  Got really good service two nights later from that same gal...and apparently she had a nice ride back to her hotel.

Sort of fun.  Did breakfast in the room (love expense accounts) and then walked her down to the lobby and saw her to the car.  I asked the driver to make sure that 'miss' got back to her place ok.  It helped that she wasn't dressed totally flashy WG.

Next visit from the WG I asked if she got back ok and she was very 'thankful'.

I've never had any problem in Sheraton, Excelsior and Grand Hyatt.

I don't know about other hotels but I don't think they'll say something. If the girl is over 18 it should be alright everywhere.

The hotels bros should NOT name are the HG bookings where you go to the WGs/agent's hotel. Notwithstanding that, sure don't name the hotel in your REPORT (of no interest anyway), but this thread is about taking WG's back to ANY hotel in HK where YOU are staying.

It is perfectly legal to take a girl/WG back to your own hotel room. I believe there are only one or two hotels in HK that won't allow it and they do this to maintain high standards of decorum for the other guests (and I wouldn't give them my business). Honestly, the hotel and staff couldn't care less, and yes most will know what you are doing but walk tall bros, it's legal, you are the customer, if you are embarrassed it's your problem. I have taken WGs to dinner many times in the hotels where I stay, and I can tell the staff know the situation but have never encountered an issue, it's none of their business!

Worst case is some hotels may want to charge a little more for dual occupancy, and it would look cheap and potentially embarrassing to try and avoid paying the surcharge.

Most times I see no difference between cost of single or dual occupancy. I have one complaint with the Rio in Macau where they often put "dual" on my booking when I specifically say "single" .... perhaps it's them trying to do me a favour and say having girl in my room no problem but I really don't like that wording on my bill in case my SO sees it.

Yep.  Had an old girlfriend give me a hard time about exactly that once.  She saw a hotel bill with "double occupancy" on it even though I'd been flying solo.  It was just a hotel error, but man did it cause some grief.

Yikes!  Luckily that's almost non-existant with N.American hotel bookings.

However, depending on your professional circumstances...I did think of an 'excuse'.  Very often I will have my project teams book into rooms as double occupancy and/or get two beds when checking in.  This is in case I need to bring an additional staff for a couple days to help out and do not have room in the budget for an additional room.  We are a small outfit so this is not a total red herring.

The other time I did this was when I thought I might fly my wife out to Singapore for a surprise weekend during a project...so I put in for a double occupancy in my reservation (no additional fee).  Worked out well when the trip didn't happen and I had a WG come over for an overnighter.  The exec lounge front desk even asked if Mrs. Registrar would be joining me for breakfast.  It was my 2nd morning (grabbing a pastry and juice after a quick spin on a exer-cycle) in the hotel and I indeed had a WG in the room sleeping after a nice overnighter.  Threw me for a LOOP as I hadn't checked her (WG) in or anything...just turned out the front desk clerk had seen in my record Mr+Mrs for my room.  Must say when I brought her up for breakfast proper I did introduce her as my guest for the morning.

Hotels

I have stayed HUNDREDS of nights at the Renaissance Hotel in WanChai, and nearly as much at the Sheraton TST.  Both are girl friendly, but they are different.

In my expereince, the Renaissance Hotel WanChai is a bit more convenient if you plan to pick-up talent at the nearby bars.  Returning home late at night, the LONG walk-of-shame across the huge (but most likely rather empty) lobby, as the white marble on the floor"clicks' with every step of her 5" spikes, and every step can be disconcerting.  However, security will not say a word, and the girls working late night at the desk will also not say a word (or likely even look up) and will not be there during the day... and won't remember you anyway unless you want them to.  Though, I must admit that if you are staying on an Executive floor, I suggest not staying on the floor where the executive lounge is located -- pick one of the connected floors and just walk up the stairs to the lounge.. as otherwise when the elevator door opens as you return with your lovely, you might have 1 dozen or so other guests and hotel employees waiting to go down on the elevator.

The Sheraton TST is a nice choice also.  However, if you want one of the hotel reservation 141 girls to visit you later at night (10:00), you will certainly need to go downstairs and meet her in the lobby.  When bringing back local talent, you will mostly likely need to go up the escalator, cross the much busier lobby right beside the front desk (well they will try hard to greet you by name...LOL) and then up the elevator.  The views from the highest rooms at this hotel are terrific.  (And you'll be amazed how most of these girls never seem to have a good view of HK!!

I suggest that you also consider the Renaissance Hotel in TST.  It is NOT quite as nice as these other 2 hotels, but it tends to be a little cheaper, and is more girl-freindly than the others -- and it seems to be EASY for the girls to get up these escalators 24 hours a day.  (Again, unless you are staying on the executive floor!!!  On this floor, you will need to be "beeped" in by 1 of 2 lovely assistants who will be there 24/7, and who will know your name and greet you accordingly.  I have stayed there many times.   Once I arranged for a long meeting with a high-end WG who I had met before, and while it was nice (and the staff was very professional), if you are not comfortable with this sort of thing, then avoid it!!!!  That said, the rooms and suites there are GREAT at it has by far the best views at this hotel over the Intercontinental hotels pool toward Central/WanChai.  If you pick-up a local girl, the wal to this hotel through the subway walking area can also be a bit fun... and it also has a nice grocery store in the attached mall which I find to be convenient.

Single vs. Double occupancy

In China and HK I ALWAYS book double occupancy for every hotel!  I do so for a very valid reason.  More than once, long ago, when I had a "single" booked, I arrived late at night to a new hotel only to find my room in a FULL 4/5 star western hotel had nothing but a twin-sized bed.  In fact, this even happened once long ago at the The Sheraton in TST.  (After that, I normally requested the Sheraton Towers, or the Executive floor.)  When my single/twin bed mess happened, I made SURE to complain to my SO about it -- and EVERY time i travel for business or personal I always book a double for the same reason.  Plausible deniability is what I live and monger by!

Frankly, when I arrive alone at Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, or Shanghai hotels, I also use this as a good excuse to need 2 room keys upon arrival... and if I meet an old friend who I have met before, I simply pass her the room key over dinner, so she has one to "flash" to security at the elevator when we return late at night.  (These ladiies are high-end, and dress accordingly, and to the local security, they likely are perceived as being western or HK businesswomen.)  By the second day, they all just presume that my HK GF has joined me.  (It also helps to stay at the same hotels all the time...)

Thanks for the recommendation on the Renaissance TST.  It seems a little far over from the ferry and TST main station but sometimes I am just looking for a nice room at a more budget friendly rate.  Your comment on the harbour view rooms being better than the IC are even more intriguing.  I spent a whole night one time just having a great armagnac and listening to music while staring out from my room at the IC.

wait if you book double won't you get a twin instead of a single bed?
double would assume 2 person staying, hence 2 beds

This has happened to me (room with two single beds) a few times in Shanghai - I don't have the option of booking dual occupancy because my work's travel coordinator does the booking and I can't explain to her that I might have company.  Generally I've asked the hotel (most often the Equatorial) to change it, and they have been able to give me a king sized double bed - I just explain that my feet hang over the end of the single beds (which happens to be true).  But a couple of times I've been stuck with the single and had a girl overnight.

It can be really good - not if you plan to get much sleep, but one time being forced to be in close proximity through the night led to a lot of activity, so I'm not complaining!  The other time, the girl went to sleep in the other bed after our session, but in the morning I invited myself into her bed and had my way with her anyway - and that was exciting in it's own way!

So - not necessarily a disaster to have twin beds.

Bro you been doing too many budget business trips where colleagues bunk down together. Bed type is usually separate request. Most hotels assume married couples want a single queen/king bed.

XDD,

I am thinking you might need to book that specifically (ie a higher grade/rate room).  I was planning a HK trip this month and checking out options.  The JW Marriott...they have whirlpools in some of the Executive/Club level rooms.

Happy hunting!
