Using QQ chat?

Has anyone used QQ chat to pick up chicks in china?
I hear it is a great tool for that purpose. Any stories?

A lot local guys use it to meet girls but requires a lot of hard work and patience to get your reward! If you do not know any Chinese then forget it.

A buddy told me he used babelfish web translater to translate his conversations for QQ chat.  I don't think he got anywhere with the girls, because they may have thought they were chatting with a retarded guy.  You will understand if you ever read any passage that has been translated via online translators like babelfish.  These online translators leave alot to be desired.

yea, i'm still learning the reading & writing part. And this is a great way to practice. What better incentive is there to learn reading & writing?

EVERY single chick I have met in china, WG or not, chats on QQ regularly. Asian cultures are definitely more open to using new technology. Just look at the cell phone market in asia compared to north america. Also, it seems the mainland gals are also more open to hooking up via the internet.

lately I have chatted with some chicks on QQ, but haven't been back to china yet to seal the deal. Other dating and friendship websites have worked well. But the "market" on QQ is just enormous. there must be tens of millions of people online at any moment.

first of all, why do that? You can just pay $150RMB to bang a cute ass chick and not get fond of her or deal with all the troubles. Secondly, pics on QQ or any other social website are not all real. Most of the time, these photos are so airbrushed and some are not even really of them
.Do you wnat to spend countless hours chatting to someone and then find out, it's not them at all. That's just a waste of time. Unless you are looking for love and want to find someone special, then by all means do it, but to just find someone to hook up and have sex with, forget it.

my nephew installed QQ on my machine here in the US and it came with a nice virus.  So be careful when installing.

Some girls like to use the webcam and mic to talk on QQ, so you'll know its the real deal.

QQ is the biggest instant messenger application in China, they regard their QQ IDs more important than their mobile numbers. You don't have to use it to chat up girls you've haven't met before - to waste time as you put it - but wgs you've like for repeat action as FBs

Do the WGs in HK and Macau spent time on QQ then (do they even have the time)? If yes, I got to brush up my chinese.

But I'm with VG when he said why waste time on QQ when you can head over for a real deal. Of course, if the hunt gives you a whole lot more satisfaction than the act itself (???)... that's a dfferent story altogether.

yea, I do realize that it could be a massive waste of time.
Though I have succeeded once, not thru QQ, but another website.

I just find that a true skilled pickup is just so much more rewarding.

However, I may have to re-think that because with my limited time in china (only weeks at a time) I don't have a lot of time to waste.

I haven't had any problems with QQ and viruses. I use it for work, to transfer large files with clients in china.

a newbie question here : on QQ is it feasible to chat without speaking chinese or cantonese?
if not, it is not only a matter of spare time

but if there is the possibility to chat in english, I can spend a lot of time there

you can try logging on and see if you can. As far as I can tell, it's all in Chinese and so if you can't read Chinese, it's probably gonna be hard to know how to register and such. The last time i was on and browsed it, it was such a tedious process just to get started, I just forgot about it altogether. Who knows maybe they're make it available in English

I use the English version. It works fine with the Chinese versions.
I use it for maintenance purposes only, not for pick up.
