You need to describe your problem in more detail
but try down sizing your pic first

The process is easy.
  1. Save a REALLY small image first (one of the emoticons, like this one will do) to your PC.
  2. Change your avatar to the emoticon.
  3. Hit the back button to go back a couple of times to the edit profile page.
  4. Change the avatar to the "real" one you want and save again.
That should work. If not, just keep screwing around with saving the small one then the large one until it does.
