agree is their pic and they could do whatever they want. just that this is a place where we are suppose to share info and give our fellow bro a heads up. the way i view it your guy that have ra over 30 have access to pretty much to everything here. it is easy to said is no problem since you guys have access to it for so long already. how many of  you guys could honestly said that you could go back being a newbie. with all that said you guys earn your ra by providing info for us. more power to you guys and i'm happy that guys are here on the board.  it just feels a little strange,

If I were to start a new account as a newbie, I'm pretty confident I'd become a conqueror within a few weeks! It's about being yourself and contributing positively, showing support and respect for others, and generally sharing good info and inputting constructively into discussions. Reports are generally the most appreciated form of participation, and pics are a bonus which many bros like. I'm confident my reports would be liked!!

Everyone has their own RA setting criteria... For me there are a number of reasons for different levels of RA, but often it's done with my mod hat on, meaning that the main reason is trying to get people to participate more on the forums. Sometimes, if the thread title is intriguing enough, I'll put RA on the whole thread so newbies cannot even get to read it, never mind the pics inside...

This drive for more more participation is forum wide, and supported by all mods. And it's working! You, for one, seem irked just enough to keep wanting to increasing your access level, fueled by a desire to see what is hidden... Am I right?!

I would get neg big time and banned....

Sorry, but I worried that I'm not understanding you correctly... Are you saying that you're currently on a mission to increase your access levels, then when you feel you have enough to see what you want to see, you'll go and make some bullshit comments on people's posts?

If that's what you just said, then I've got to ask what's the purpose in that? I mean, if you plan to stay and continue to get info, rather than get it and then leave for another two years, why become a nuisance poster instead of a respected one? BTW, bros do give out negative karmas as well, which can bring RA levels downwards...

I'm not a moderator, only a member same as you. I don't set policy, but as a participant in this community I make my voice heard when I have something to say.

Participation earns you credibility and access. There just isn't any way around that.

Your observation is correct, RA30 is an often used hurdle for access. Although there is no hard and fast rule, it's generally considered that Conqueror is the lowest level "senior" member, and that folks that have reached that level have "paid their dues" by participating. There really isn't any way that you'll change this via whining about things. Nearly every participant agrees that the system works well and that it encourages a level of contribution that's unparalleled in other forums.

As to you point about the forum being an informational resource for one and all, I disagree. I write to help and inform the others who care enough to do the same for me. Using a real world example, you'd probably give a friend $20 if he needed it, but would ignore the pan-handler on the street demanding money. Or alternately if you saw someone putting money in a parking meter to keep a stranger from getting a ticket, you'd be a LOT more inclined to do the same for that person if you knew it was his car.

I don't write to help the cowards that hide in the shadows and take our intel without providing any themselves. In my mind it's a compromise, the forum has to be open for new participating members to join, so we tolerate the deadwood that comes along with that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the strongest supporters of new writers, I just don't care to be judged and criticized from the sidelines, and don't feel obligated to share with the beggars.

i think is time to end the tread. if we keep this up i'll be a conqueror just from this thread i would like thank gary for explaining to me why is necessary to put up a ra even for pic of the wg face. CunningLinguist for why each person have their own ra setting for pic. DArtagnan and Caligynephiliac  for showing everything need hard work. and all the other people that was contribute to this thread. one last thing hunter question on post 26. all you guys been here long enough to know how exactly slow this forum was at that time at least to me. so i register on some other forum. and recently my friend remind me of this site and told me to check it out. that's pretty much it. i guess you guys are the founding fathers of this forum and made it what it is now. my hat goes off to you guys. and happy mongering

Well I've found this site cause I'm about to head to HK for some personal time, I've really appreciated all the information here, and if I can make a couple of reports so much the better, a place like this does rely on give and take.
I'm relying on reading others reports and the Q&As so I can make a good choice and be in the knowledge, (looks like I may have a lot to learn though), atm I'm not sure if I need the higher RA, what I'm finding in the open section is more than enough right now. (however, this is not to say that I don't want more RA!)
