It depends on the amount of data you have to store as well as the size of the individual files.
For most people a Gmail account will do.
They have over 7GB of storage capacity and can handle attachments up to 25MB.
And it's free.

Top Secret

Hi all,

I work in technology field for over 20 yrs. I think this is an important topic. There are different levels of security.

Physical security - Keeping all files in one place like a thumb drive or SD chip can work well but one has to be careful not to leave the chip laying about.

Encryption and hidden folders offer two lines of security. Hide the files in plain sight is one strategy but then most of the computer programs out there will leave a recent file list so you might want to password protect the folder (this won't help much if the file name is 'Suzy sucks me off').

Offline service comes with a Macintosh computer for $99/yr. Its called mobile me and lets you setup a disk to drag and drop files (using a Mac/PC). If you are stuck on a PC (get off it, those things don't have enough security).

Web browser options should be set to clear cache when closing. Try to get Firefox or Chrome browser and operate in private mode (no records are kept). A second browser just for your activities can be used (don't put the icon on the desktop) while you leave a default browser that is right out in front.

External hard drive that can turned on when needed.

Separate login to the computer is one of the best tools. Keep your password safe and store all of your materials in hidden, encrypted and password protected folders. A key point is to log off the computer whenever you leave the system.

Hope this helps!

You say you've worked in the tech field for over 20 years; then you say the Mac is more secure than the PC.    You're just parroting the fanboy party line bro; it sounds to me like your "tech work" involves standing around in an Apple store selling Macs.

Get a secret Gmail account. Its free. You can store any type of files there. And you probably got a big limit, like at least few gigs, or even unlimited.
Its the best out there. the learning curve is not steep, its pretty easy.
