Some of you are mistaking ambiguity in the way laws are enforced for ambiguity in the laws themselves. It is not the role of the police to determine what is legal or illegal. It is illegal to J-walk in Hong Kong; the fact that the HK police never arrest anyone for crossing against the light does not mean the laws are unclear on this subject. J-walking remains illegal and the police could fine you if they wanted, they just choose not to.

Likewise, what the walkups are doing is legal. Not paying taxes on their income is illegal, but that is a crime completely unrelated to what they do to acquire that income. If the tax people don't go after them, that's a policy /enforcement decision, not a legal judgment.

The fact that some of the types of prostitution here in HK must resort to subterfuge to effect payment for services rendered is proof that prostitution laws exist and are clearly defined. If the laws weren't clear, no subterfuge would be necessary and/ or effective.

Last I check with my regular FBs (ex - HK hotel gal) is the following:
1) photoshoot - agent expense. But some gal took the photo in China, so they bear their own expense (sort of resume before coming to HK).
2) advertisement - agent expense
3) Hotel room - HG expense
4) Income sharing - 50/50, 40/60 and sometime commisiion to middleman in China, depend what;s the channel they come into HK.
5) Towels - agent expense, this is minimal, sometime the HG will pay for it as bonus to agent if the business is good
6) Toiletries - doms and such, HG expense


Well, nowaday I don;t quite give a shit on the aforesaid...........as long as I get my deal and she gets hers.

the split is better then say an accountancy or attorney split...but bear in mind that what the pimp does is illegal, so they will need additional cover for the "risk" they take for this type of work...

also, the pimps also need to pay out to other people for the protection fee, correct?

i think at the end of the day, while it looks like that the pimps take is quite high, if you factor all the cost involved, the net net effect is probably lower then what we think...
