HKIA to Taishan

Hey bros,

Looking for some advice from the travel pros here, trying to make my way from HKIA to Taishan. I wont be able to make the direct bus & I get seasick so no ferry.

I'm looking into getting myself to a bus terminal in Shenzhen but I'm not familiar with the area so I was intimidated when I found so many options on the HKIA website.

Can any bros give me some input as to which company I should go with to get myself to a bus terminal with a connection to Taishan?

Or maybe there are other routes that I am not aware of?

btw, I will be landing at 2:30pm.

Hopefully there are some fellow taishan people here who can drop some knowledge.

TIA!

I'm looking into getti ...

Actually there is a ferry but you have to take a taxi or bus  after for about 20 mins to Taishan.  I have taken it once, years ago but I don't know iif it's still active.

Best option is take a direct big bus from HKIA to Taishan.... You have to get out with your luggage at the border at HK and China. You will transfer to another bus.

You can also catch a large bus in Shenzhen, Lu Wo. After clearing China immigration, there is a large bus station. There are signs in English for places like Chang Ping, Forshan,Guangzhou and Taishan. The signs are on a wall and on the post next to each bus.  Don't remember but I think you have to buy the tickets upstairs and not in bus except for CP. CP you pay on the bus.

You also have Huangguang, Furtian Bus Station, Shenzhen Bay for other options,

Just check this link to the HK International airport tranport links
http://www.hongkongairport.com/e ... coach-services.html

Note the phone numbers and phone them.

Alternatively, when you arrive at HKIA, just go to the Mainland bus/transport service area directly in front of Arrival hall A and just ask around. As you noted, there seems to be multiple bus companies offering service to Taishan - so ask around at this area to see which bus suits you best i.e. timing, price, journey time etc.

Ps edit
As far as you making your way to Haunggang, Luohu, Shenzhen bay etc to then catch a but to Taishan - I'd counsel you NOT to be so adventurous as its hard, even for regular travelers to China cities to catch just the right time and more importantly the right place where one can get on an "ideal bus." Just go to the HKIA counters as a 2:30 arrival is perfect to get on these buses from the airport. Just IMHO

Thanks for the info bros, I land at 2:20pm so I will miss the 2pm big bus to Taishan and I dont want to wait until 6pm for the next one.

I might just go for the 3:10pm big bus to Kaiping followed by a connection to another bus/taxi to Taishan.

If you take the 3:10 pm bus to Kaiping, there are NO buses running after 7:00 from Kaiping to Taishan.  It takes about 4 hours and will very difficult to catch the last bus from Kaiping to Taishan. You will need to get a tax or stay over in Kaiping. The negotiated price runs around 70 to 80 rmb for taxis.  After 11pm it's more expensive.  I will send a PM too. Hope you catch it in time.

if you go to the manland China bus section of the airport, most of the companies (Eternal East, Go-Go, etc) has a bus to Taishan.  Not sure of the times, but most of the buses leave in the morning.  However, I'm sure there'll be some that leaves mid-afternoon.
