Well, you certainly had a nice tour of the Asian women back in the pre Vietnam days.  Where would you say were the girls the best?  I have been to Havana, but post-Castro, the women there can be very very sexy in that latin way.  

If you are coming this far, I wonder if you won't enjoy a couple of nights in real China?  You can have an amazing time in CP and see one of the best, IMO, "bagging" towns in Asia.  CP is about 90 minutes (?) by minivan from Hong Kong.  You can stay at very plush hotels for 20% of what you'll pay in HK, the choices in girls are very easy due to Saunas. You probably wouldn't like the KTV scene, but it is there.  Very high quality girls.

Also, you should spend a night in Macau for lots of reasons.  There is now 5x as much money moving through its casinos as in Las Vegas.  The sauna girls are delightful. And, it is a very short ferry ride away.

OK - you've outlined some of the "prices" of those days - but what was the prevailing salaries at that time?  And how very rich very few of the populace was then versus the masses of people who could barely even afford to feed themselves etc. Or how as an "expatriate" yourself at that time, that you were probably indeed looked upon as being one of the rich privileged.

Well pretty soon Cuba is going to open up again.  It will be a good deal for about 30 days, then the big money will flood in and everything will be expensive.  [Same thing happened a few years ago in the Czech republic.]

I would first like to thank you for your guidance in recommending I transfer onto the main board my story as I was hesitant in posting at all, because I thought no one would believe my age and story and think it was a prank.
You are quite right in pointing out the cost of living at that time if I remember rightly My salary as a junior engineer was 65 pounds sterling a month but of course I had no other expenses,we as officers got 5* treatment on the ship.

One story I meant to include in the original draft was unique to Hong Kong and  occurred every night around the Harbour, I didn't come across it anywhere else in the world. As you may have seen in old photo's the harbour was always full of ships tied up to the anchored buoys, in  this situation the ships alway had one deck and one engineer  officer on board in case of emergency, but they didn't miss out,the "Meat Boat"  would arrive alongside  between 9-00 to 11-00pm  and mamasan with 5or6 girls would come aboard, we could take our pick and they the junk would retun to pick them up before 6-00am. So that means as a forerunner to walk up and walk in girls we had the the SAIL UP GIRLS.
