All the doors at the walk ups have a sign most have english on them. One side says please come back later which means they have a cutomer so dont ring the bell. The other side says welcome ring the bell and they will open the door and let you in. It doesn't matter if you dont speak chinese you are not there to chat anyway.

I dont speak chinese and never had a problem they will find a way to tell you how much.
