Or trouble getting around the city? And regarding police, it is really busy with protests, for sure it is NOT very busy on other activities ;) The pro govt people even say that the criminals are pleased with the protests, because it keeps police busy.  I'm sure the triads don't need that to do their business, usually mafias and police have sort of mutually beneficial agreements. But for our shared hobby, which is here probably not runned by mafia, protests probably give more security.

What if my wardrobe consists of black or white t-shirts? Will be safe? Happy punting, I'll be visiting in September! #6 Post at 11-8-2019 00:02  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L It's a sad situation, because ultimately China will assimilate HK, politically.  The original agreement between England and Zhao Ziyang was to leave HK to its own sovereignty for ... 50 years(?), but being as HK is no longer the financial powerhouse of all of Chinas territory,  they just aren't inclined to honor that agreement, and even if they were to, the 50 years would have elapsed eventually regardless. I sympathize with citizens of Hong Kong.  Their entire lives are subject to the whims of the chinese government which, if you've followed the truth of what China has done to disrupt communities in their western provinces who they deem to be a threat based on religion or ethnicity, is pretty scary indeed. As for punting, who knows what will happen.   Get those punts in while you can, HKers, because once it's ruled illegal, the prices skyrocket. And like most avoid white or black, but now it seems like everybody is getting affected. Original thinking was that during weekdays there shouldn't be much protest due work or school, but now that doesn't appear to be the case. #8 Post at 11-8-2019 23:37  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #5 enzo's post this evening fired tear gas/molotov thrown in Wan Chai from Lockhardt/Fenwick and felt through Hennessy Road by Wan Chai MTR.  So, wouldn't say it hasn't affected the area. The protests focus in the Police HQ in the area sometimes. While the streets seemed a bit quiet: Churchills/Queen Vic - as normal full Makati - as normal full (was the most banging with girls) Bar 109 - quiet which is normal for that time Players - about half full Taboo - about half full Sparks - as normal full Neptunes - pretty full From what i heard from others after I left, around 5pm the protesters started walking peacefully. across Lockhart Rd on Luard Rd before turning left towards the Police HQ.  Seemingly this didn't cause a mass exodus from the people already out in the bars.
