STD Test

Hi all,

So I normally get tested regularly at the Wan Chai Male Social Hygiene clinic, which is a public clinic. However they're still using the old fashioned method of swab up the urethra - which I absolutely hate. I hate it to the point where I am now willing to pay money for a private clinic - where I assume they all use the more up to date (and far less painful) method of urine tests.

Can anyone recommend a private clinic that isn't going to break the bank. I'm talking no more than $1,500 for a full STD test with a HIV blood test included. Seems like STD tests aren't included in my work health insurance.

I tried to book an appointment with the family planning clinic, but they were so booked up for the next month and a half, that they actually told me it would be better to ask another place!

Man totally agree. The old method sucks. Downright uncomfortable. I'd also like to know other cheap alternatives...

Google Medifast causeway bay. They also have Mongkok and Central branches. I recall it was less than 1000hkd and you can ask about pre marital test and you can tick the things you want to test and they also test how active your sperm is and whether you have any latent diseases.

Thanks a lot. I just checked out their website and it is indeed cheap and covers everything I need.

With regards to the sperm check, do they provide a private room with porn to help you? Just making sure as I've heard horror stories of places (in other countries) where they have no rooms, and you have to masturbate in their toilet or a public toilet.

Given it is south east asia, they charge extra for a cute girl witha surgical glove to tickle your prostate...

That's a good price if the appointment and results are fast.  I paid a lot more when I had urgent need. I didn't mind the price when it came back clear.

Results are quick around one to two weeks I recall. There are private disabled toilets. Don't think they provide porn, you don't really want to touch it anyway.  Use your phone and stream, plenty of websites. If you need internet, recall seeing a sign for free wifi.
