I just noticed that many threads have disappeared from the forums?
And my Karma run down from 5529 to 5354

what happen??

Same, I've just gone from 525 credits to 409 dropping me down a rank,
I was about to PM some bros who asked for JJ's contact from my last post,
I've also lost all my preview posts too, thats messed up.

yeah two of my most recent reports seem to have vanished along with the karma etc they earnt....

looks like everythign from 10th October till today vanished!

I lost so many karma points too.

I hope the main admin have backups from every days or this MySQL collapse is killing so many bros' soul.

I have the feeling the rollback to 10/10 is the actual backup.
It's realistic to think that it's permanent. I'm not sure how the database of Discuz! is structured, but the fact that every element has been rolled back would suggest that the recent state of the database has been lost somehow.

It is really disheartening to see that all people are talking about after the system outage are karma and lost reports. Don't you think you guys are taking yourselves a little too seriously? Someone behind the scene has probably been working their arse off to get this forum online again. No one has said any appreciative.
This is a magnificent forum, and we are using it entirely free of charge. I thank the people who worked to get us online yesterday, and for risking your personal safety to maintain this forum. We (myself included) tend to take things for granted. Good things don't necessarily last forever.

No doubt folks are busting their butts behind the scenes to restore what's gone and credit to them. But still, a brief admin announcement/explanation/update would surely serve to set minds at ease. Better to find out sooner rather than later if the lost weeks are temporary or permanent. Rip the fkg bandaid.

I tend to agree with @duckling in that this probably IS the backup.

My guess is something went to shit when setting up S Books and the admin had to restore from backup. Then they may have realised backup had not been done for a couple of weeks.

I did the same thing at work once and got my arse kicked by everyone

I agree someone is busting their nuts to restore everything and setup something new for us in S Books. Let's give credit where it's due and I am sure mods can help restore lost Ks down the track.

we do it for free too. and also almost all forums are entirely free of charge. And sure the admin have his business behind the forum. so what is yout point?
before open this thread i search on the forum if have some new thread from the mods that explain what happen, but none, so i open this thread and ask for explanations.

UPDATE!!!!!

Here is what I received from our Admin.

There was a database crash on Oct 27 6:30am. And unfortunately, the last successful backup we can find is on Oct 10 and so the forum is rolled back there. Sorry about the missing data.

If anyone saw a major K impact, please let me know. I’ll work to make it right.

Honor system is in place in requesting K top ups.
