Shanghai swindled
Leaving this post here to spare other mongers the same fate. There are a lot of ads out there for spas/saunas in Shanghai. I was advised they are mostly scams but I figured I’d give it a shot. Agreed over text for DG style services and a lineup selection. Showed up, place looked like a normal massage place, gave no lineup. They kept trying to pressure me to get a membership for some crazy amount, and I refused. At the end, all they gave was a HE. They kept promising that there is more for repeat customers (using terms from DG style services).
Anyway, the conventional wisdom is that the spa scene is dead and I think this is still the case. I’m out 3000 RMB, which is a good waiwei session (shame), but hopefully you all can learn from my mistake! | |
