I think Bohica’s strategy is good. When I was new to HK I used to frequent these places. And it’s not uncommon to see a group of many girls with a few boys listening to music, drinking, chatting and dancing. They are mostly Filipino. I was able to make contact with girls in a few of these groups and they appear to DHs meeting up with their friends for a birthday celebration or DHs meeting up with their country cousins who are here in HK as tourists.

Here is my successful strategy. Choose a girl. Try and sit opposite her or close your so she can glance at you. Make eye contact. Smile as soon as she sees you. If she returns your smile then keep on flirting with her. Then when she convinces you that she is game, gesture with your eyes to the exit. or if the dimness of the lights doesn’t allow you proper eye contact then make hand gestures motioning the exit. Then one of the two things happened to me. With one lingering glance and a gesture to the exit I leave and she follows me out. Then if she is free we negotiate and head off or we exchange numbers for a future meeting. Once a girl told me to go have dinner and meet her after their party ended. Or the second thing that happened is after a few flirty gestures she gets up and heads to the bathroom where the conversation takes place. Once a girl got up and went to 7 Eleven only as an excuse to meet up and talk.

A few times I just walked up to the girl cos the gestures were not working but the flirty glances were reciprocated and I asked the girl for a dance. I was successful twice. The other times peer pressure I think prevented the girl from agreeing
