I do not want to cause any row. I have enjoyed this forum tremendously over the past ten years. But I have to say this:
Daytripper posted a response that contains 5 words. Within two hours, he got told off and a negative acceptance.
Twiceaweek posted a response here that contains 5 words. No one said anything.
One liners are generally frowned upon, especially when posted by new members. Twiceaweek once posted a single word "yes". No one said anything.
Not Twiceaweek's fault, though. It is the hypocrisy of those self-appointed "one-liner watchers" that I can't stand.
There is ongoing discussion on why fewer and fewer people participate in this forum. Richard Thaler, the 2017 Nobel laureate in economics, discovered that fairness plays such a important role in decision making that it often (almost always) surpasses profit. When someone, no matter how senior he is, can behave however he likes and goes unchallenged, that is the moment when people lose respect for this place and start to leave.
At least I will.
