Chrome on PC/Mac, as well as on the smartphones, has an "incognito" mode. When browsing in incognito mode no history, cookies, etc. are left behind. This way you don't need to erase everything after visiting any of the "special" websites. All you need to do is to close the window.

And with Adblock you can suppress the naughty ads, so if someone does catch a glimpse at your screen, there's usually nothing compromising on it, just some text on a blue background (unless you happen to be reading one of Dr. A's reports at that exact moment...)

Furthermore, if you are browsing from a workplace, and don't want the fact that you accessed certain IPs to be registered in the logs, you can use a more secure browser like TorBrowser, which routes you to your destination through some intermediate IPs, rather than directly.
