Zhuhai (Reporting Live - Gongbei area)
Not a report, but I thought since I've been situated here for more than half a week and engaging daily I would share some of my opinions on the scene here in Zhuhai, hopefully this will save my brothers time and effort when if you do decide to explore this place.
In my humble opinion, with the exception of LHL, Pimps/Mamasans on Pedestrian Street, Clubs (I haven't explored this avenue) and KTVs, there really isn't much ... the massage rates are reasonable affordable but I would rate your attendants to be upper 30s in age or 3-4s in terms of attractiveness at best, of course in terms of my standards.
1) Massage Parlors - HJ is plenty, BBBJ is available but rare and are going to be administered by some not very attractive women. The best approach I can recommend is going for the Veggie massage, becoming interesting, fun or if you have the looks, win the girl over and then her over to your hotel after hours, it's a moderate chance, not high, but depends on your pickup game, I was able to make it work after 2 sessions back to back (Regular Massage - $138/90 minutes).
2) LHL - the famous street beside the Guangdong hotel - these chicks are between 4-8, all mostly younger type. Typical rate now is $300/40 minutes ... but the service is going to be borderline, so have that expectation when you book there, most girls have the "lets hit quota" attitude. Value wise, you need the time to evaluate by sitting nearby and profile each one, I did this while eating nearby. The shy ones can be complete gems. Side note: Guangdong Hotel's revolving restaurant is a very nice to eat, especially for a foreigner.
3) Pedestrian Street - Lots of Mamasans and Pimps that try to get you to come with them, I haven't explored this avenue too much, I did ask for pictures for reference, but they had none available. I don't know too much about this stream of opportunity, so perhaps someone could share their thoughts. I'm not afraid of shady, but with the sheer amount of them there, one has to wonder what the quality is like, and it looks like their business isn't exactly booming as I would circle their spots and they are still there 2-3 hours without a single bite.
4) iAround and Momo - Use momo and chat around, plenty of girls looking to accompany you, their standard rate is $500 per shot with a soft hour or less. I haven't explored this route too much either, but I'm not a fan as there is a high opportunity of a bait and switch.
Being older (and hopefully wiser), I just find your dollar is better spent in other places than Zhuhai, of course I've only been here a week, so not long enough to do a full assessment. Going rate seems to be around $400-$500, quality and looks are compromises though at that rate.
