It seems that girls are now allowed in Vietnam's hotels.  Even the foreign owned 5 stars.  They have a liability form that you sign accepting responsibility for any damage your 'guest' might do, and she hands in her ID (but they don't keep it) just like a registering guest.  The concierge at one of the five stars explained this all to me.  I've tried it twice and sure enough that's how it goes.  Still find it hard to believe they've changed the law barring unmarried Vietnamese girls in hotels overnight.

Like I say, I've only confirmed this twice (at places that formerly would not allow girls at all), but it seems legit.
